Ugla also includes information about services, announcements and training. You will find classified adverts, software systems and tools you can use, and much more.

It is a good idea to make a habit of logging into Ugla every day. Answers to common login issues. The examples below are not an exhaustive list of the extensive tools and resources available in Ugla.

Studies

In Ugla, you will find everything related to your studies.

Registrations and payments

On the Ugla front page, you can complete registrations and payments for the following items – in accordance with the Academic Calendar.

Schools and Faculties
  • Internal websites of the Schools
  • Specialised information in relation to faculties
  • Events organised by the School
  • School and Faculty-specific regulations
  • Final project templates
Staff

Ugla for staff provides access to an employee's previous academic record (if the staff member has studied at the University), and the student and staff versions of Ugla are closely connected. Staff must make a habit of using their staff email account and Ugla for staff-related matters, and the student version of Ugla and student email for anything related to their studies.

SmáUglan

SmáUglan is an app you can download for smartphones and tablets from the App Store (Apple devices) and Google Play (Android devices). It provides quick access to the key information Ugla users rely on most in their day-to-day use.

SmáUglan does not offer self-service functions, registrations or payments. However, staff can use SmáUglan to clock in to Vinnustund.

Graduated students keep access to Ugla after graduation, but with certain limitations. Access to software ends, except for the web version of Microsoft Office. Graduated students also keep access to their University email address for life.

If a student discontinues their studies without completing their programme, access to Ugla is closed, along with their student email account and access to all software provided by the University of Iceland.
