If your question concerns teaching, assignments, or deadlines, please contact the course instructor.
Do you need assistance with essays or other writing? The University of Iceland Writing Centre provides guidance on presentation and academic writing.
Student Counselling also offers courses and individual counselling on study planning and project work.

Most study certificates can be obtained free of charge by yourself in Ugla under Confirmations and Transcripts
Transcript of Records with confirmation of graduation (2015 and later) can be found on island.is
If you need a customised certificate or have more than one active study track, you can request a certificate through the Help Centre.
In some cases, the department must verify information before a certificate is issued.
Payments that cannot be made through Uglu are handled at the Service Desk in Háskólatorg.

Your department handles applications for:
- exemptions from rules and compulsory courses,
- study leave, such as due to illness or childbirth.
- recognition of prior learning and credits
- permission to register for a course for the third time after failing,
- permission to register for resit exams when failing requires department approval.
Before you decide to withdraw from your studies, it is recommended to speak with the Student Counselling Centre. There, you can receive advice on your situation and learn about the support services available to you.
To withdraw from your studies, you need to send a written request from your @hi.is email address to the Student Registry.
