To continue your studies in the next academic year, you must complete annual registration in Ugla and pay the registration fee. If you do not complete the annual registration, you will be considered to have withdrawn from your studies.
Annual registration takes place during the spring months. Exact dates can be found in the University Calendar.
How does annual registration work?
- Log in to Ugla.
- Open the annual registration from the Ugla homepage.
- Select courses for both the autumn and spring semesters.
- Save your selection.
- Pay the registration fee in Ugla.
The registration fee payment deadline is 4 July.
By paying the registration fee, you confirm your intention to continue your studies.
Consult the programme's course catalogue from the academic year in which you began your studies. There you will find the programme requirements and information about compulsory courses, restricted electives and electives.
- Mandatory courses (S): You must complete all compulsory courses in the programme.
- Restricted electives (B): You select a specified number of courses or credits from a limited group.
- Free electives (V): You select courses in accordance with the rules that apply to the programme.
You can change your course registration later during the advertised registration periods.
If you intend to graduate in the coming academic year, select graduation during annual registration.
If you missed the annual registration, contact the Student Registry and request registration.
The request must be sent from your University of Iceland email address to nemskra@hi.is.
