Students, staff and guests of the University can purchase refreshments at various locations around the campus, whether it's a cup of coffee to grab between lectures or a warm meal to enjoy at lunchtime.
Háma offers a diverse selection of food and beverages throughout the university campus. Its largest facilities are located in the University Centre, at Saga, Tæknigarður, and Læknagarður, and offer hot meals all weekdays between 11:30 and 13:30. Additionally, all of Háma's locations, except for Saga, serve soup on weekdays.
Students with a student card receive a discount on hot meals, soup, and coffee cards at Háma.
You can customise Ugla to display the HÁMA menu on the front page. The menu is also available on the Student Services website (Félagsstofnun stúdenta) and in SmáUgla.
Most Háma locations offer facilities for heating food, and open spaces are available for sitting between lectures.
In addition to Háma, the university campus offers:
- Student-run catering services in Hagi and VR-II
- The Soup Station in Veröld
- Ýmir restaurant in Edda
- The Student Cellar (Stúdentakjallarinn)
- The Bookstore Café (Bókakaffi stúdenta)
- Eiríksdóttir Gróska
Please note that the operation of most food and beverage services on campus is closely tied to teaching periods.
Vegan
FS (Icelandic Student Services) operates Háma and the Student Cellar, both of which offer a selection of vegan refreshments, all clearly labelled. Háma locations at the University Centre and Tæknigarður offer two meals at lunchtime, with one always being vegan. Additionally, the soup selection always includes a vegan option.
The restaurant Plantan in the Nordic House promotes itself as offering entirely plant-based options.
