Food Services and Facilities

Staff break rooms equipped with coffee, tea, and water, are available in all UI buildings. 

Meal tickets or food allowance

UI staff with a 50% job occupancy or higher can choose between food allowance or access to meal tickets that can be used in Háma, the Bookstore Café, Veröld and the Student Cellar. A staff member who wants to sign up for meal tickets must first contact the payroll office to be able to purchase meal tickets at the Service Desk.

Restaurants

Háma operates in nine buildings across the university campus, providing a wide selection of food and beverages. Its largest facilities are located in the University Centre, Tæknigarður, Læknagarður and Stakkahlíð, where hot meals are served on weekdays from 11:30 to 13:30. Additionally, all of Háma's locations offer soup on weekdays. 

Most of the locations offer facilities for heating food and open spaces to sit between lectures are available.

In addition to Háma, the university campus offers:

Vegan

FS (Icelandic Student Services) operates Háma and the Student Cellar, both of which offer a selection of clearly labelled vegan refreshments. Háma locations at the University Centre and Tæknigarður offer two meals at lunchtime, one always vegan. Additionally, the soup selection always includes a vegan option. SÓNÓ restaurant, located in the Nordic House, is entirely vegan.
