- Psychological counselling for university students and their children is provided by master's students in clinical psychology under the supervision of experts.
- Counselling services for university students and their families are provided by master's students in social work, under the guidance of experienced social workers.
- Dental services for the general public are provided by dental students, supervised by their instructors in the Faculty of Odontology, from mid-August until the end of November and from early January until mid-April.
- Legal Assistance for the general public is provided by master's students at the Faculty of Law, offering free assistance over the phone ( 551-1012) under the supervision of practising lawyers. The service is available on Thursday evenings between 7:30 and 10 p.m. from the beginning of September each year until mid-April, except during the examination period in December.
Prevention and Education
- Ástráður, the medical student organisation for preventive action visits upper secondary schools in Iceland and primary schools in the capital area to talk about the importance of STD prevention and the prevention of unwanted pregnancies.
- The Public Health Organisation of Medical Students (Lýðheilsufélag læknanema) has in recent years invited children aged 3-6 to visit the "Teddy Bear Hospital," where they can bring in their sick or injured teddy bears and toys.
