Here is an overview of the software that's available for students and staff of the University of Iceland. Some of the software is access-controlled.
When students graduate they loose access to most of the software.
The software can be found in either all or in specific computer labs.
- ArcGIS: Used for analyzing and processing geographical information.
- AutoDesk: A suite of design and engineering software.
- Azure: A site where students can get Microsoft software for free or with a discount.
- ChemDraw: Chemistry software used to draw chemical structures.
- EndNote: Reference manager.
- JMP: Statistical software.
- Matlab: Programing language and software.
- Microsoft 365 (Office): Office suite for word processing, collaboration, data storage and more.
- Microsoft Project/Planner: Project management.
- Microsoft Visio: Flow charts.
- MindManager: Flow charts and project management.
- Minecraft Education: Educational version of Minecraft.
- OneDrive: Data storage.
- Outlook: Email client and mail server.
- Panopto: Recording software for teaching.
- SafeExamBrowser: Used for exams through Inspera.
- SAS: Statistical software.
- Software center: Used for downloading software without the need for admin rights. Built into all University computers.
- SPSS: Statistical software.

Teams: Teams is a groupware, where you make collaborative groups, work on projects, chat, share files or have meetings.
- Zoom: Video conferencing software. We recommend using Teams.
