The University of Iceland has signed a service contract with Ofar to implement the "Prentský" cloud printers across the university. All staff can use those printers.
The schools/divisions also offer printers outside the "Prentský" but they differ in their setups. You can get assistance with setting up those printers by contacting the Division of IT.
Printer replacement
The old print cloud will be replaced this summer. Some printers in the departments will also be replaced (at the department's request).
You can sign in to the printer with your PIN.
You can also link your staff ID card to your username by placing the card on the card scanner and entering your PIN.
This is how you find your PIN:
- Open the UniFLOW webpage and sign in.
- Memorise the "PIN". It can be found under "Identities".
If you can not see the pin then click "New identity", choose PIN, add it and then refresh the page.

- The default setting is black and white, printed on both sides, so you need to change the settings if you want it any other way.

- Open "Print Settings" and click "+ Add". You might need to enter your password a few times during the setup, depending on your system:
- In the "New Printer" window, click Network Printer -> Windows Printer via SAMBA.
Under SMB Printer write: 130.208.143.155/prentsky-hi.

Common issues with printing
Here you can find solutions to common printer issues.
- The print cloud printers notify Ofar automatically when they are out of ink or if they are in an error state. However, if that doesn't happen, you can submit a request with the printer's location, the service number written on the side, and what colour toner is needed to IT.
- The department orders ink for the other printers and also paper for both types of printers (except for the computer labs).
If the document does not appear in your print queue on the printer (after you log onto it) then you can try the following:
- Make sure you are printing using the "Prentsky HI" printer.
- Make sure that the "Uniflow SmartClient" is running and connected. You can check in the bottom right corner by clicking on the arrow:
- If the app is not running then you can open it through the start menu by searching for it:
- If the app is already running then click on the icon and select "uniFLOW SmartClient settings":
- Select "Re-register" after that the app should work. Try printing the documents again from the computer and recheck your print queue on the printer:
If the print cloud is already set up but not working for one user, remove it from the computer and set it up again.
- Windows: Click on the start button and start typing "Printers and scanners", click on it, select prentský and "Remove device".
- MacOS: Open "System preferences", click on Printers & scanners", select prentský and click on the minus button.
- The most common reason you can't print is that you are not connected to a university network. (Eduroam, hinet6 or with a wired connection). In Sturlugötu 8 it is not possible to print through Eduroam.
- If the printer has a screen then you can often see the error on it.
- You can submit a request to IT if you need more assistance.
