Exam schedules and locations

Specific rules apply in the exam locations during examinations.

Examination schedules

Exam Registration

  • A student must be registered for a course to take the exam.
    • In certain courses with large enrollments, registration for partial exams is required. If such registration is needed, it will be specified in the course syllabus.
  • If a student is not registered, their name will not appear on the exam list.

Exam location and specific seats

  • Information about exam locations during exam periods is published in Ugla in My Exam Schedule
  • Exams are held in various university buildings, and a floor plan (only in Icelandic) showing the location of each classroom is provided for each building on the University Buildings page.
  • Students are assigned specific numbered seats in the examination rooms. The assigned number is visible in Ugla the day before the exam and posted on a list of names at the exam locations. No one may take an exam in a location other than the one they have been pre-assigned.

Time limits and rules on exam day

  • It is important to monitor announcements about room assignments and arrive on time at the exam location on the exam day.
  • Students are not allowed to leave the exam room during the first third of the exam.

Distance exams are available if a student cannot attend the exam on-site for any reason.

A valid photo ID must be presented at the exam location. An electronic driver's licence is also accepted, but it is only accessible on the island.is app.
