Access to the University Gym costs ISK 12,000 for the academic year. University students and staff can buy access at the University Centre Service Desk. This fee covers all open sessions in the hall, including access to the fitness suite facilities and sauna. There is no physical membership card; instead, you can log in at the entrance using your kennitala or student number

Opening hours:
- Mondays - Thursdays: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Fridays: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The gym is closed during public holidays, including Christmas and Easter, as well as for 6 weeks during the summer.
The University Gym at Sæmundargata is only open to students and staff at the University of Iceland.
Yes, you can rent the gymnasium for group sports during opening hours.

- 3000 ISK between 7 am and 4 pm on weekdays
- 4000 ISK after 4 pm and on weekends

The building is old and regrettably not well equipped for wheelchair users. There is no elevator and the doorsteps are quite high.
Gym memberships are sold for the academic year. During the autumn semester, you can only buy access for the entire academic year. However, exchange students staying for just one semester are exempt and can buy access for the autumn semester only, for 6.000 ISK. Access for the spring semester can be purchased separately from January onwards.
