Registering for Graduation
Students intending to graduate must register their intended graduation month in Ugla before the estimated graduation. This can be done in Ugla during the review of course registrations at the beginning of the autumn and spring semesters.
You need to familiarize yourself with the regulations from your department about submitting your thesis or final project and confirm your graduation plans.
If you are not registered for graduation and/or have not confirmed with your department by the end of the semester that you intend to graduate, it will be assumed that you do not intend to graduate.
Detailed information about graduation can be found in the course catalogue.
Ceremony
The University of Iceland graduates candidates three times a year: in February, June, and October. Specific dates are listed in the University of Iceland’s Academic Calendar.
If a candidate is absent at the graduation ceremony, they must obtain their graduation documents from their department later.
Students who complete a diploma degree will receive their certificate from their department’s office.
