- Sign in by clicking "Innskráning með Uglu netfangi" and use your Ugla access information.
- The user is asked if he wants to remain logged in. Choosing to stay logged in is only recommended on your own device.
After successful login, the Inspera screen should appear with the main navigation located in a blue banner at the top with the tabs "Author", "Deliver", "Monitor" and "Grade" in the middle.
Problems with logging into Inspera?
I can't see the blue navigation line described in the Inspera instructions.
All my question sets and exams are nowhere to be found! My screen only shows "Upcoming tests", "previous tests" and "Demo tests" tabs:
Explanation: An admin user (e.g. a teacher) has accidentally logged in to the Student module of Inspera instead of the Admin module. The cause might be the otherwise brilliant Single-Sign-On (SSO) that keeps us signed in between the university systems.
- The Inspera landing page, by default, offers the possibility to log in as a "Student" with the option to move over to the Admin login page.
- Teachers and other administrators can access both modules, but students can only access the student module.
Solution: To fix the wrong login, please follow these steps:
- Click the person icon in the upper right corner.
- Click "Log out"
- Navigate back to https://hi.inspera.com
- Click "Go to Admin Login"
- Sign in by clicking "Innskráning með Uglu netfangi" and use your Ugla access information.
- The user is asked if he wants to stay logged in. Either option is fine.
My browser, Internet Explorer, is not working with Inspera!
Reason: Internet Explorer is incompatible with Inspera.
Solution: Use a different browser, e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari. If none of the mentioned browsers can be found on your computer, please find one online, e.g., by using Google. Download your chosen browser and follow their instructions to set it up.
I get a message about not having access to my exam!
When I try to open a specific exam through Ugla, I get an error saying I don't have access to the exam!
Reason: Several reasons could be causing this error.
- The most common reason is a mistake when listing the co-teachers with access to the exam. Our name is missing from the list of co-teachers/administrators with access to the exam.
- When we create an Inspera Exam from Canvas as a starting point, through Ugla and into Inspera, we have to specify those who should have access to the exam in Inspera.
- All the teachers assigned to the course in question are listed by default.
- This list is editable in Ugla, where we connect our exam to an examination table, set the exam duration, etc.
Solution:
- Open Ugla.
- Click "My Ugla" and "My Courses" to get a list of your courses.
- Locate the course and click the three dots icon in the second to last column to the right.
- Find the correct exam in the Inspera exam list and click the pencil icon to the left of the exam's name.
- Scroll down to the "Those who have access to this test in Inspera" section, click inside the window listing the names (to the right of the last name on the list), and start writing your name.
- A popup window including a name or names should appear underneath the line you are writing, and simply clicking your name adds it to the list of names with access.
- Click "Save".
- Click the link icon to open the exam inside Inspera.
Exception:
- My name does not appear in the popup window (or only my student user name appears). Don't hesitate to get in touch with Inspera specialists at the Central Examination Office. - see Technical support.
