Examination anxiety

Exam periods can cause significant stress for students. The university offers several resources to help manage exam anxiety.

Academic Counselling

The University of Iceland’s Student Counsellors provide advice and support for studies. Improved study techniques can reduce stress and prevent anxiety. If you need assistance, you can book an appointment with a counsellor. UISCC also offers helpful tips and strategies for learning and exam preparation.

Extended Exam Time

Students suffering from exam anxiety can request an extended exam time, typically 25%. In exceptional cases, more time may be granted. Information on accommodation in examinations is available on the Academic Counselling website.

Psychological Services

Appointments with the university's Psychological Services can be booked via email at salfraedingar@hi.is. The service is located on the 3rd floor of Háskólatorg.

Psychological counselling is also available for master's students in clinical psychology at the Student Psychology Clinic.
