Evaluation of previous studies
Each faculty has permission to evaluate courses that you have completed at another faculty or another school. You can apply for an evaluation of your previous studies at your faculty, and they determine whether to evaluate the course in question and for how many ECTS credits.
The faculty then gets feedback from teachers in the relevant subject before a decision is made.
The rules of each faculty may differ e.g. regarding:
- Minimum achievement in the courses assessed.
- Time since the test was taken.
The rules of the faculty should indicate whether it is permitted to evaluate courses that have previously been included in a degree.
Frequently asked questions
The application must include a certified transcript and course descriptions from the previous school. If those documents are from the UI, you don't have to include them, unless specifically asked to do so.
It must be stated if it is to be evaluated as a free elective course within the programme or if it is to be equivalent to a mandatory (required) course for the programme.
Further information can be found within each faculty.
The faculty will announce their decision and if accepted the evaluated courses will be added to your Ugla.
